T-Bird

ford-thunderbird-1955aJust learned that the Las Positas Anthology competition folks picked up my submission for their 2014 edition. Poet is written in a unique format called 55 Fiction. Found this definition (where else?) online:  Often called “micro” or “nano” fiction 55 fiction is the art of creating a complete short story in exactly 55 words, no more, no less.  Not an essay, not a poem, not a bunch of random thoughts, no musings. Just a potent piece of pure fiction that you’ve dexterously composed in 55 words.

Below is another of my original works in this format, inspired by a popular ’60s tune.

T-BIRD
She cruised the hamburger stand, forgetting the library

Like she told her dad.  Radio blasting, she’s having fun fun fun.
Dad took her keys. She thought her fun was over.
But she went along with Brian, they had a lotta things to do.
And they have fun fun fun now that daddy repossessed the T-Bird.

  1. You captured the moment and made me hum along. Take me for a ride!

  2. Thanks, Stacey! Just hope I don’t get sued for plagiarism!
